TOWN BUDGET MEETING TOWN OF MOUNT HOPE, SEPT. 28, 2022
OFFICIALS PRESENT:
Following the Pledge of Allegiance, Supervisor Howell called the budget meeting to order at 6:10pm. Public notice was available on the desk for anyone who wants to see it.
Supervisor Howell began with the building inspector.
BI Julie Musial explained that the department is currently within the 30-day window for processing permits. They have collected $117,000 so far. 195 permits, 210 certificates & 73 title searches to date. While Heidi is out Mark Brennan from Village of Wurtsboro will come to shadow/assist her with final inspections. Councilwoman Davis asked if Deb was still transferring from files to the computer. BI Musial said that she is as time permits. She believes she as far back as 2008 or 2007.
Supervisor Howell spoke re: Howells fire budget. He received a preliminary figure of $223,229. They still have to have their public hearing before they can have a definite budget amount.
Supervisor Howell noted that he revised the budget on Friday. He wants to stay under the 2% tax cap. Councilman Carey asked what the % is now. Supervisor explained the breakdown of how the % is figured. To stay under the tax cap he put everyone at a 2% raise for salaries. For anyone that is NON-union.
Councilman Jennings asked if the increase was approved for Deb’s hours. Supervisor adjusted them to approx. 12.7-ish per week.
MOTION TO ADJOURN MEETING:
MOTION offered Councilman Furman 2nd Councilman Jennings to adjourn the meeting at 7:00pm. All in favor: Howell, Carey, Jennings, Davis, Furman; carried.
