The regular meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Mount Hope was held at Town Hall on June 1, 2015 at 7:30pm with the following present: Supervisor Chad Volpe, Councilman Matt Howell, Councilman Gary Ketcham, Councilwoman Janet Sutherland, Councilman Dominick Cambareri and Town Clerk Kathleen Myers.
OFFICIALS PRESENT: Chief P. Rickard, J. Musial – Dep. H’way Supt., D. Bavoso – Attorney.
Supervisor Volpe called the regular meeting to order at 7:30PM, following the Pledge of Allegiance.
RESOLUTION TO APRROVE PRIOR MEETING MINUTES:
MOTION offered by Councilman Ketcham seconded by Councilwoman Sutherland to approve the minutes from the May 18, 2015 meeting as presented. All in favor: Howell, Ketcham, Volpe, Sutherland, Cambareri; carried.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:
POLICE DEPARTMENT:
Chief Rickard SPOKE RE: Kevin McGrath’s resignation effective June 15, 2015. They will be meeting with Paul Barth on the 12th re: fireworks. He added that there will be 4:00am shifts beginning for the summer months.
HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT:
Dep. H’way Supt. Musial inquired re: fireworks and if the park will be closed for the whole weekend. Councilman Cambareri stated that it will be closed the day after so that there is time for the clean-up process. The guys are working on the road issues with all the rain. Ditching will begin soon.
PLANNING BOARD:
Councilman Ketcham reported on a 5 lot expansion and road, curbing and drainage. Public hearing is still going on. That’s part of the sewer report too. Atty. Bavoso stated there is a work session on solar and wind energy legislation tomorrow at 6:30pm.
LITTLE LEAGUE:
Councilwoman Sutherland reported that tryouts for all stars was cancelled due to weather but they will be this Friday. June 4, 4:30-6:00 is the cheesecake fundraiser pick up.
MOUNT HOPE FIRE:
Chief Doty read report. He thanked the board for the solar class. He spoke of people not numbering their houses. Need to get the word out that they need to be numbered. The brush truck should be ready by the middle of the month.
SUMMER RECREATION:
Trustee Loeven reported that 16 counselors were hired and one C-I-T was hired. They are keeping a waiting list.

VILLAGE OF OTISVILLE:
Trustee Loeven reported that the 1st yard sale meeting was today. They will meet again in July with the police department. It will be July 6th at 9:00am.
DIRECT ENERGY:
Atty. Bavoso stated that a new draft was received today. He would like the content on the website. An email was sent to all board members.
FIRE DISTRICT:
Mr. Vreeland reported that the district is dissolved for $4,104.44. A check was issued to the town for $55,967.56.
FIRE PROTECTION:
Supervisor Volpe spoke re: fire protection bid process. Matt & Dominick will work on this with David.
CORNELL:
Supervisor Volpe reported that the Cornell events are on the website.
KC ENGINEERING:
DEC went to sewer plant and said things weren’t up to their specs. The engineer has to come up with a plan to come up to spec.
RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE TOWN SUPERIVSOR TO SIGN THE KC ENGINEERING REPORT:
MOTION offered by Councilman Cambareri 2nd by Councilman Howell to authorize the Town Supervisor to sign the KC Engineering report for the Hidden Valley plant permit modification. All in favor: Howell, Ketcham, Volpe, Sutherland, Cambareri; carried.
CORNELL:
Supervisor Volpe spoke re: building fees for Cornell. The board discussed and agreed that normal fees would be charged for building permits.
RESOLUTION TO ACCEPT RESIGNATION FROM KEVIN MCGRATH:
MOTION offered by Councilwoman Sutherland 2nd by Councilman Howell to accept the resignation from Kevin McGrath from the police department with regret effective 6-15-2015. All in favor: Howell, Ketcham, Volpe, Sutherland, Cambareri; carried.
RESOLUTION TO AUDIT THE CLAIMS:
MOTION offered by Councilman Howell seconded by Councilwoman Sutherland to approve the following bills:

PUBLIC PARTICIPATION:
Ms. Loeven spoke re: Thank you from the seniors for the CPR class. She asked for permission for the town clerk, bookkeeper and deputy town clerk to attend the volunteer appreciation luncheon for the Hometown Helpers.
Mrs. Maurizzio asked the date for the fireworks. Supervisor Volpe: July 11th.
BOARD COMMENTS:
Councilman Howell stated that Cornell received a donation from the Orange County bank. There was something in the paper about it. It is moving along.

BOARD COMMENTS CONTINUED:
Councilman Ketcham stated that he attended one of the Direct Energy classes. It was very interesting. He will pass info along to Planning Board tomorrow night.
Councilwoman Sutherland asked Chief Rickard when is it a good time for people to call in for house watch. Chief: anytime is good. She also asked if there was going to be anything for Kevin McGrath’s departure. Chief stated he will probably take him to lunch.
Councilman Cambareri thanked the fire commissioners for their hard work.
Supervisor Volpe added that he was happy with the solar training. He asked if there was any update on the old school? Councilman Ketcham stated that Frank Ketcham is having surgery.
RESOLUTION TO ADJOURN MEETING:
MOTION offered by Councilwoman Sutherland seconded by Councilman Ketcham to adjourn the meeting at 7:53pm. All in favor: Howell, Ketcham, Volpe, Sutherland, Cambareri; carried.
The next meeting is scheduled for June 15, 2015 at 7:30pm.
