The budget meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Mount Hope was held at Town Hall on October 7, 2014 at 7:00pm with the following present: Supervisor Chad Volpe, Councilman Gary Ketcham, Councilman Matt Howell, Councilman Dominick Cambareri and Town Clerk Kathleen Myers. NOT PRESENT: Councilwoman Janet Sutherland
Following the Pledge of Allegiance, Supervisor Volpe called the meeting to order at 7:00PM.
Town Clerk advised the board members that the ad for tonight’s meeting was in the paper on 10-2-2014.
Supervisor Volpe advised the board members that he spoke with Councilwoman Sutherland. She needs to be with her grandmother as she is in the hospital. Councilwoman Sutherland will come in later in the week to meet with Supervisor Volpe.
At this time, Supervisor Volpe went through the budget line by line and read off the numbers starting with General A. He asked Town Clerk to explain the election budget and the charge backs to the town.
Councilman Howell asked about the ‘Real Property Tax’ line and what it is for. Councilman Ketcham explained that it’s for penalties on late payments of taxes.
Supervisor Volpe explained that he negotiated with the highway guys for their requests. He also spoke with Attorney Bavoso with regard to their request of making the employee handbook a legally binding contract. The attorney will look into this. Supervisor Volpe if there were any questions on the highway portion of the budget. Councilman Ketcham stated if Dean is comfortable then he is comfortable.
There was discussion over percentages and increases/decreases in the budget. Councilman Cambareri thanked the Supervisor for all the hard work he put in for his first time doing the budget.
RESOLUTION TO ADJOURN:
MOTION offered by Councilman Cambareri seconded by Councilman Howell to adjourn meeting at 8:05pm. All in favor: Howell, Ketcham, Volpe, Cambareri; carried.
