It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved former Highway Superintendent David F. Budd.

Dave passed away on Friday October 24th at the Cayuga Medical Center, Ithaca, NY. In addition to being the previous Highway Superintendent for our Town, Dave was also a member of the Otisville Lions Club; the Association of Town Superintendents of Highways; the Mount Hope Cruisers; a lifetime member of the Otisville Fire Company; Co-founder of the Otisville Country Fair and a Co-founder of the Otisville Youth Basketball League. He was also a coach for the Special Olympics Red Raiders Basketball Team and a former member of Minisink Valley Kiwanis Club. Many will also remember that Dave started the Highway Safety program here at the Otisville Elementary School and that the kids just loved those yearly visits to the park.

Dave was a real softy when it came to kids and anyone who knew him, knew that about him. He dedicated the better part of his life giving back to the community he was raised and he will be sorely missed. The Otisville Country Fair and the Otisville Youth Basketball League continue to this day and help to define his and our commitment to community.
